How to Choose a Patio Door Design

The other kinds such as wood and aluminum are limited in design because of the limitations of the material itself. For space constraints, a sliding patio door could be chosen over the standard hinge or swing type door. Most sliding doors are made out of aluminum, but luckily for the finicky designer, there are also some made out of upvc. Swing or hinge type doors have the option of swinging into the house or swinging outside into the patio. A choice of one, two, or three door panels are also possible for swinging doors.

For patio doors especially, a good material is as important as design issues. This is because a patio door will most likely be exposed to the elements. Upvc patio doors are rigid plastic composite materials that can withstand water and weather abuse. Colors won’t fade; the material won’t rot or rust. Upvc patio doors are the logical choice for the aesthete and the utilitarian alike.
