Is upvc being used for anything else other than as patio doors?

Yes. It can sometimes be seen as weatherboarding in the sides of houses, as fascia up in the rafters, in window frames and window sills. It is also popular with plumbing and drainage systems. This material is replacing cast iron as down pipes, gutters, waste pipes, and drain pipes.
